Beyond The Beach: The Heart and Soul of Barbadian Culture.

Barbados Beyond The Beach: A Journey Through Time and Culture. The Bajan identity is a range of cultural roots from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean. The island's history of slavery and colonization has left an enduring effect on the Bajan people, and their culture programs this mix of effects and origins.

In spite of these historical hardships, Bajans are well-known for their humour and heart. They are friendly and welcoming. They have a strong sense of neighborhood, obvious in how they come together to celebrate festivals and unique events. They are comfortable in their skin, many are not thinking about discovering their African roots. One substantial rogue describes: "I comprehend who I am - I am Bajan; what is the point of digging up the past." Not all concur, and some Rogues in Paradise plan to do the DNA test to explore their roots and heritage.

The British developed sugarcane plantations on the island, and by the mid-17th century, Barbados became one of the greatest sugar manufacturers on the planet. It was throughout his time in office that the British colonised Barbados. That was exceptional news for Barbados and for the other British conies who utilized the Barbados manuscript to produce their own. Colonial rule was awful, with various atrocities toward the Africans   working on the plantations.

The book, Rogues In Paradise, reviews the inhuman and severe slave trade, and how it has and still impacts Barbados today. Yet it is ultimately a joyful, book that is a tribute to humanity and the spirit in all of us.
